Even after these efforts, the sportsman eliminations for the weekend were still finished on Monday. Unable to get the track where they wanted it, officials made the call to move the finish line for all categories and it was on. This was the IHRA World Finals and the weather had been a disaster all weekend. This race was kind of unique because due to a host of factors, it was converted to an eighth mile contest the morning that these runs were made. Normally we are talking about inches of differential between the cars crossing the finish line but in this case we are talking about inches between the cars in the same lane, side by side!
